Polyester Ribbing Fabric is a functional fabric made of 100% polyester fiber through ribbing weaving technology (warp and weft yarns alternately float and sink to form longitudinal concave and convex stripes). Its unique elastic structure can quickly recover to its original shape after horizontal stretching. It also has waterproof and wrinkle-resistant properties. It is an ideal edge reinforcement material for clothing accessories, sportswear and household items.

Features of Polyester Ribbing Fabric

1. High elasticity and recovery
The fabric adopts 1×1 ribbing structure (warp yarn density 80 per inch, weft yarn density 60), with a horizontal stretch rate of up to 150% (ASTM D3107 standard), and the recovery rate is still ≥95% after stretching 50,000 times, far exceeding ordinary cotton ribbing (recovery rate of about 80%).

2. Lightweight design
The fabric weighs only 143gsm, which is 20% lighter than cotton rib (about 180gsm). At the same time, the hollow structure of polyester fiber (fiber diameter 15-20μm) forms a microporous channel with an air permeability of 500g/m²·24h (ISO 9237 standard), which can effectively expel sweat and avoid stuffiness.

3. Wear-resistant and wrinkle-resistant, easy to care for
The molecular structure of polyester fiber gives the fabric high strength (breaking strength ≥400N/5cm, ASTM D5035 standard) and wrinkle resistance (crease recovery angle ≥300°, AATCC 66 standard). After 5000 friction tests, the surface has no pilling, and it can be machine washed (below 40℃) and hung to dry directly without ironing.

4. Waterproof and anti-fouling, upgraded functions
The surface is treated with a fluorine-free water repellent (C6 DWR), and the hydrostatic pressure of the fabric reaches 800mmH₂O (ISO 811 standard), which can resist light rain (rainfall ≤2mm/h) and daily splashing. At the same time, the contact angle is ≥130° (water droplets roll down in a spherical shape on the surface of the fabric), and the stain adhesion rate is reduced by 60%.

Cleaning and maintenance of Polyester Ribbing Fabric

1. Daily cleaning
Use neutral detergent (pH 6-8) to machine wash at a water temperature below 30°C (gentle mode), and avoid using bleach or softener (which may damage the waterproof coating). For local stains, you can dip a small amount of detergent and rub gently, then rinse with clean water.

2. Deep maintenance
Restore waterproof performance once a quarter:
Spray a special waterproofing agent (such as Grangers Performance Repel) and evenly cover the surface of the fabric. Let it stand for 10 minutes and then wipe it with a dry cloth;
Avoid direct sunlight when drying (ultraviolet rays may accelerate the decomposition of waterproofing agents), and choose a ventilated place to dry in the shade.

3. Storage precautions
When storing for a long time, the fabric needs to be rolled into a tube (diameter ≥ 20cm) to avoid folding and causing ribbing deformation. The storage environment should be kept dry (relative humidity ≤ 60%), the temperature should be 15-25℃, and away from acidic and alkaline substances and sharp objects.
